Jagan moves HC, demands neutral probe on attack

HYDERABAD: YSR Congress party president YS on Wednesday filed a writ plea in the Hyderabad High Court, urging it to entrust the investigation into the attack on him at Visakhapatnam airport on October 25 to an appropriate independent agency that does not fall under the purview of Andhra Pradesh or its DGP.

Apart from AP home secretary, DGP and Vizag police officials, he has also made AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu as a respondent to the plea. He described the assault as a serious attack with an intent to eliminate him, but lamented that the response of the state or its authorities, including the CM, was suspicious and nonserious. The court is likely to hear the case on Thursday.
